Newpark Youth Orchestra

The Newpark Youth Orchestra (NYO) is a vibrant and inclusive ensemble dedicated to nurturing the musical talents of young musicians aged 9 to 18 and beyond. Based in the heart of Newpark, our orchestra offers a dynamic environment where young instrumentalists can develop their skills, explore a diverse repertoire, and experience the joy of making music together.

Newpark Youth Orchestra

Our Structure:

  • Junior Strings: This section welcomes string players aged 9 and up, providing a supportive space for younger musicians to begin their orchestral journey. Here, they build foundational skills, gain ensemble experience, and prepare for more advanced musical challenges.

  • Intermediate Orchestra: Open to musicians aged 11 and older, this group includes all orchestral instruments, from woodwind and brass to percussion and strings. The Intermediate Orchestra focuses on more complex pieces, fostering a deeper understanding of orchestral playing and encouraging artistic growth.

Rehearsals:
NYO rehearsals take place every Thursday from 18:30 to 19:30 at Newpark. These weekly sessions are more than just practice—they are opportunities for young musicians to connect, collaborate, and create memorable musical experiences.
