instrumental tuition

Individual instrumental tuition forms the backbone to daily activity at Newpark Music Centre. Lessons in a wide range of instruments and styles are available with experienced and dedicated teachers available each day to cover all needs.

Performance activity within the school is strongly encouraged and supported by regular student concerts, participation in chamber and orchestral groups, as well as involvement with our well - established annual Festival.

Assessment and feedback on student progress is achieved through end of term reports and results from external examination bodies. Teachers at the Music Centre enter pupils for Trinity Guildhall, Royal Irish Academy of Music and Associated Board of the Royal School of Music examinations.

For organisational ease, instruments are categorised into 4 departments; piano, strings, wind/brass/voice/percussion with the fourth department comprising of junior and leaving certificate as well as graded theory classes.

Piano
Piano tuition is available at the centre each day and is one of the most popular choices for existing and incoming students.

Strings
The string department comprises Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass and Classical Guitar.

Woodwind, Brass, Voice & Percussion
Flute, Clarinet, Recorder, Saxophone, Trumpet, and Trombone lessons are available with Voice and Percussion tuition completing the departmental layout.
